Scenario 1: Partitioning for optimal performance
Partitions are the core objects of the data storage system on hard disks, SSDs and flash media. Their optimal configuration increases data security, speeds up all file system operations and allows you to place your data according to your demands.
Instead of placing all data, applications and the operating system on one partition, split it into several different partitions, change the file system type and redistribute the data. You can place operating system and applications on one volume, documents on other and media files on third. With several volumes it will be easier to service the file system, back up data and keep it safe.
Scenario 2: Be prepared to restore everything back exactly like it was
Creating archives of partitions is the best way to secure your software environment — including the operating system, applications and data. Full copies of disks and partitions will allow you to recover your system to a working state within several minutes. Place your archives where you want them: internal or external hard disk, FTP/SFTP server, a special environment or on optical media.
Scenario 3: Protect your important data
Create both sector-level images of partitions and file-level archives of your files and folders. All file archives can form a chain of additions, thus granting the ability to reverse file changes or recover documents when disaster strikes.
Scenario 4: Take advantage of SSD drives
Thinking about upgrading to a new Solid State Drive (SSD)? Paragon’s Hard Disk Manager is just what you need. Its handy intuitive Migrate OS to SSD wizard performs fast and safe Windows migrations to new storage devices (HDD or SSD). You can move data to SSD with redundant data exclusion, allowing issue-free downsize to a smaller capacity drive.
Scenario 5: Don’t forget to perform secure wiping
As your devices age, you will someday decide to get rid of them. You may sell, donate or simply throw away used computers, disk drives and removable media, but not before you wipe all your data. Even if you delete files and re-format disks, the data they contain can easily be recovered with help of special utilities. To secure sensitive information, the Hard Disk Manager Wipe wizard can help easily and securely delete data from any type of storage media.
Scenario 6: Create a bootable backup capsule for disaster recovery
Create a Backup Capsule on one of your disks. This special partition is not only the safest place to store archived images, but can also be augmented with a special bootable recovery environment. If your system refuses to start, you can just boot from the Backup Capsule to perform recovery operations or simply copy important data.
Scenario 7: Make your system bootable on different hardware or in a virtual environment
Hard Disk Manager makes your system bootable when migrating to new hardware by automatically injecting the required drivers into your operating system. If you unsuccessfully virtualized your system with a third-party tool and it was unbootable, the problem can be easily resolved.
Scenario 8: Continue using your old PC’s applications in a virtual environment
When it’s time to upgrade to a new PC and operating system, you may find that some of your favorite applications haven’t yet been updated. Using Hard Disk Manager, you can make a virtual clone of your old system before migrating to a new computer. Take advantage of an up-to-date powerful computer while still having access to favorite applications from your old computer.
Scenario 9: Speed up your system performance
Hard Disk Manager supports modern advanced-format HDDs and SSDs, and is familiar with peculiarities such as their alignment issues. With Hard Disk Manager, you do not need to worry about whether your partitions are aligned or not – they are automatically moved during every copy and partitioning operation to the most optimal position, providing the best file system performance. The built-in defragmentation utility can be used to achieve maximum disk performance.
Scenario 10: Fully functional disaster recovery and disk management utilities in your pocket
Use Hard Disk Manager any time you need it. Create bootable media on CD, DVD or Flash. These handy, portable versions of recovery environments are especially useful in case of disaster recovery, bare metal installation or system migration.
